The number and quality of proposals which have been received for ICHF 2009 has far exceeded expectations (totalling more than 107) and whilst welcome, this has brought with it additional problems primarily that of time. The sheer volume of work that members of the academic committee have had to undertake in vetting all the proposals (an ongoing process) has mean that there will be a delay in issuing the Second Announcement document. This is now anticipated to become available late in September. Full details, once known, will be placed here as soon as possible. Please note that the call for papers is now closed.
2011 It has just been announced that the International Conference on the History of Freemasonry (ICHF) has just just become truly international.
In any event if you are in the Washington DC area we would encourage you to visit the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. It is so easy to reach from Washington DC via their superb underground/over ground subway system that takes (from memory about 25 minutes) that it would be a shame to miss it - and (remember this a Scot reporting this) the fares are cheap!!! For an insight to Alexandria where the 2011 conference is to be held there is an excellent web site. To go there click here or on the previous links. Negotiations as to where the 2013 ICHF conference is to be held have just entered a preliminary stage. It is likely to be some very considerable time before we can provide details do meantime please ignore all the rumours!
2009 ICHF is delighted to announce that arrangements for the 2009 Conference are now well advanced. The First Announcement and Call for Papers (a .pdf file) is now available and can be downloaded by clicking here or on previous links. Should you wish a hard copy please send a request to: curator@grandlodgescotland.com The deadline for the submission of proposals is 12th June 2008. Please remember that this date is the closing date for proposals not the delivery of the full version of the paper to be delivered at the conference. Proposals can be be submitted now full details are provided in the First Announcement and Call for Papers (.pdf file) which can be downloaded by clicking on any of the previous links. Details of the social programme are in the process of being finalised and full details will be provided here in due course.

The conference venue (2009) will seat up to 300 delegates comfortably. The number and quality of papers received means that two parallel sessions will be held allowing delegates to choose from a wide range of different subjects relating to Freemasonry. It maybe that unique additional parallel sessions will be held if circumstances merit it.
